that's how you grow

剛剛看了一遍ELEVEN，很喜歡作者的說法：
when you're eleven, you're also ten, and nine, and eight, and seven, and six, and five, and four, and three, and two, and one.And when you wake up on your eleventh birthday you expect to feel eleven, but you don't. You open your eyes and everything's just like yesterday,only it's today.

Because the way you grow old is kind of like an onion or like the rings inside a tree trunk or like my little wooden dolls that fit one inside the other, each year inside rthe next one. That's how being eleven years old is.

仔細想想，真的很有趣
"當妳11歲的時候，同樣也是10、9、8、7、6、5、4、3、2、1歲"
當我21歲的時候，也代表了我是20、19、18、17、16、15、14、13、12、11、10、9、8、7、6、5、4、3、2、1歲
就是因為成長是像洋蔥一般，像樹的年輪一般一層一層包裹起來
所以當妳某天做了件蠢事，那是因為妳身體裡的某一部份是屬於十歲
當看到恐怖片而害怕瑟縮的躲在棉被裡，是因為某個部份是屬於五歲的妳

所以真的難過悲傷而需要哭的話，也沒關係
也許妳感覺到三歲的自己
